About Marcus Howell

Marcus Howell is a Yorkshire-based screenwriter working in fantasy thriller and YA adventure for film and television.

His short film Fragile Trust is his most recent produced credit. His action-adventure screenplay A Shadow in the Hills was a Quarterfinalist in the Final Draft Big Break competition, selected from over 12,000 international entries. His half-hour play The Foreman has been shortlisted for development at Bingley Arts Centre.

He attended a screenwriting course at Met Film School, Ealing Studios, and is largely self-taught — drawing on years of reading, writing, and learning the craft through practice. His background in large-scale project delivery from a previous career in IT brings a structured, deadline-driven approach to his screenwriting.
